Since visiting NYC for the first time after college, I have started collecting some of my favorite NYC spots. Friends always ask me for my recommendations, and while some change overtime, others are timeless, and I am happy to share some of them with you here.
Suggestions for a memorable time in NYC any season:
- Wall Street & Bull ~15 Minutes from the Brooklyn Bridge
- Federal Hall
- Grand Central Terminal
- Empire State Building
- One World Trade Center and memorial
- Visit one of the many other neighborhoods
- Enjoy a real Manhattan neighborhood like Lower East Side
- West Village (for all the SATC fans)
- East Village
- SOHO Boutiques
- Take the popular L train from SOHO to Bedford/Williamsburg. Find great eats and/or walk to 90 Kent Avenue for Manhattan’s infamous skyline. If you’re there between April-October and happen to be there on a Saturday, you will come to Smorgasburg, the largest food market in the US. Check Central Park on weekends
- Central Park
- Rockefeller Center and Observation deck on Top of The Rock
- Broadway Show: Discounted and last minute tickets could be purchased through TKTS and Today Tix
- Museums: MET, Guggenheim, MoMA, Cooper Hewitt to name a few. Some museums have free days or discounted hours if you’re trying to rush through.
- Shopping on 5th Avenue and Madison & Flatiron
